Assessment and Selection Events

Assessment and Selection Events

Our Assessment and Selection Events can be a useful tool to create a level playing field for organisational change, including recruitment, promotion or redundancy decision making, and allow participants to demonstrate their full range of skills and experiences in an inclusive environment.

More than nine out of 10 employers using assessment centres believe they are an effective means of recruiting staff to fill vacancies (Employment Review, 2017).

Clients across the UK frequently ask us for advice on how to select, promote, retain, and indeed exit talent within their organisation appropriately, whilst being mindful that they are doing so in line with diversity and inclusion best practice. Over the last ten years we have developed a range of inclusive events which draw on our diversity, recruitment and psychological knowledge, to provide an environment where talent can perform at its best. Complete with demanding but appropriate exercises, we are able to provide the organisation and the decision-making managers with robust data upon which to base decisions, whilst at the same time delivering a high quality employee experience.

Our events can accommodate varying number of attendees, from just four delegates, through to several thousand, with each event being tailored to meet organisations’ specific needs.

We have an enviable team of qualified and experienced assessors and facilitators, all of whom are trained and qualified diversity practitioners. The team includes a range of different types of psychologists, tactical and strategic assessors, and behavioural experts, and our extensive library of exercises have all been written with the above methodology in mind, and are appropriate for use from graduates and junior management, through to senior executives.

All of our events comply with current legislation, are non-discriminatory and produce a variety of exercises for candidates to demonstrate key skills, experience and behaviours in a business and strategy focused way. We use a variety of skills assessments and psychological tools to support the decision-making process in these events. The most appropriate tools can be discussed at consultation stage.

Our Assessment and Selection Events are a useful tool, which has been shown to reduce attrition following recruitment.

Assessment and Selection Events are used to identify the best candidates for an open vacancy or promotion opportunity. These are typically used for management or client facing roles, and can range from 3 hours in duration, to 48 hours for senior executive appointments.

The range of the exercises throughout the events offers a level playing field to participants to demonstrate their full range of skills and experiences, allowing them to clearly show how they would add value to the organisation.

Offering a useful addition to any decision-making process, Equal Approach is able to administer all major psychometric tools, as well as advise on their appropriateness.

Outputs

The outputs from the events, will be a detailed feedback report which can be shared with the attendee, clear outlines of gaps in relation to the overall requirement, and where required a detailed development plan will be produced to support the individuals within the organisation.

“Equal Approach has been a key player in the development and running of a number of Assessment Events to recruit key staff into our business.

This has involved a complete service encompassing advertising roles, candidate search, selection and pre-qualification, the organisation and running of Assessment Events. All of this has been efficiently and effectively run, providing a high standard of assessment staff and materials, allowing us to bring high quality employees into our team.”
